The organisation was created in Madrid on June 1st, 1959 and is dedicated to promote the games of Carom billiard. The UMB monitors and controls all international Carom billiard competitions.
The first General Assembly was held on March 3, 1990, and at this assembly, the World Pool-Billiard Association was sanctioned as the international governing body for pool.
The ‘IBSF’ The International Billiards and Snooker Association is an organisation that governs non-professional snooker and English Billiards around the world.
The ‘WPBSA’ World Professional Billiards and Snooker Association Limited is the governing body for both Snooker and Billiards worldwide including the World Snooker Tour. The WPBSA governs and regulates these sports through regulation and application of the rules of the association.
