At the last major event before the World Games, two of the pool players that will play in Wroclaw had victories at the China Open in Shanghai. World number 2, Chen Siming (CHN) won the women’s division while 17 year old German Joshua Filler won the men’s.
The China Open 9-Ball Championship is one of the major ranking events on the pool calendar and all 16 men and 16 women players who will be in Wroclaw next month for the World Games were competing. As there is no other major event between China and the World Games, this was the final opportunity to hone their tournament skills under the same type of pressure they will face in Wroclaw. The China Open is held in Shanghai and is comprised of two events, one for 64 men and the other for 48 women.
