Albin Ouschan will meet David Alcaide before Omar Al Shaheen faces Oliver Szolnoki in the semi-finals of the World Pool Championship after all four won their quarter-finals on Wednesday evening at Marshall Arena, Milton Keynes.

Naoyuki Oi knocked Joshua Filler out of the World Pool Championship at the last 32 stage, while Americans Shane van Boening and Skyler Woodward won through to the last 16 at Marshall Arena, Milton Keynes.

Fedor Gorst survived a huge scare in the opening match of his World Pool Championship defence as he fought back from 5-1 and 6-2 down to defeat Estonia’s Mark Magi 9-7 at Marshall Arena, Milton Keynes.

The World Pool-Billiard Association (WPA) and International Chinese Eight-ball Association (ICEA) are delighted to announce our latest cooperation that sees ICEA becoming the sole authority to manage and promote the sport of Chinese Pool worldwide. ICEA fully recognizes the governing status of the WPA in the pool-billiard system. This milestone event marks ICEA’s entry into the Olympic organogram through the WPA system.

We hope that we all safely will return to our daily activities and that we will finally stop suffering from this tragic pandemic. Our sport, like all other sports, will then resume its international events, following the recovery of national sports activities as their COVID_19 situation will permit.

The UMB Virtual Challenges attracted a great audience with almost 1 million views. This means that every match was followed by 16.000 viewers on average over all media platforms.

The introduction of UMB Virtual Challenges during this COVID-19 times has been a great success, far beyond our expectations.
